It’s Cooling Off!
In celebration of the return of autumnal weather in Philly (finally!), I thought I’d share this picture of some of the farm’s funky gourds that are decorating my doorstep. Have you picked out your pumpkins or gourds at a local farm or orchard? If so and you have a cool picture, email it to me [straightfromthefarm (at) gmail (dot) com] along with your name and city, and I’ll add it to this post.

Love, love, love gourds and pumpkins. Longwood Gardens always has a nice display of funky gourds in the Autumn out in the vegetable garden, and should have all those monster pumpkins that the students grew.

Awesome! Get me a picture of those - they were so big when we were there, I can only imagine how large they are now!

I bought the prettiest “Lumina” pumpkin (it’s white) at my local farm today. It’s small-to-medium and just the sweetest thing. Next week I’ll pick out my “fairytale” or “cinderella” pumpkin.
I’ll send a photo if I become less digitally challenged in the near future

White pumpkins are by far my favorite! I can’t wait to see a picture! :)Are you going to carve it? I like to put leaf patterns on mine instead of the traditional jack o’ lantern look.

I don’t know if I’ll carve it. I’m kind of a traditionalist when it comes to jack-o-lanterns. But maybe…we’ll see how it holds up for the next month. It would be really pretty with leaf patterns on it. Or I could always just, you know, buy more of them to carve…
